Worthy is the Lamb

Revelation chapter 21 speaks of a new heaven and a new earth, and that God will soon live among His people.

It also talks about how those who don’t believe will experience the second death, the lake of fire.

“He who was seated on the throne” says that the unbelievers and the idolaters, etc., will be permanently separated from God. Jesus and His ministry describe His belief about living life to the full today. He had few words about those who would be separated by God yet let the reader understand.

The book of Revelation can be interpreted that Jesus is talking about the here and now, and the coming new heaven and new earth with a warning for those who refuse to listen:

You shall not experience the fullness of life because they will be separate from the goodness that God offers.

Not to take away from any future hope, but rather a holistic view of His message to you and me. A harmonious and complete view of the goodness that God has provided, for this life and the life to come.

This larger view of the ministry of Jesus on earth celebrates this New Covenant between God and His people. It gives us the means to reunite our hearts with the heart of God and to pray as Jesus taught us: for His kingdom to come to earth.

When reunited, we can live our lives as God intended rather than to be slaves to sin and the power of death. We all struggle with the power of sin, but when we say yes to God, we ask for help managing how we miss the mark so that it can’t have power over us.

When we say yes to God, we die to the power that sin and death have over us and proclaim that Jesus is the Lord of our lives, not sin and death. This is our New Covenant “first” death. We consciously reject permanent separation from the goodness of God.

Romans 6:4
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism
into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised
from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too
might walk in newness of life.”

  • God will live with his people
  • Jesus is a Worthy Lamb
  • His victory is ours. We won.
  • We live full-time with God through the power of the Holy Spirit
  • May His kingdom come

Discuss and Pray

What does the fullness of life mean to you?

What does separation from God mean to you?

How has Christ’s victory over sin and death changed you, or will change you?
